Feliz Dia de San Patricio!

Besides learning basic Spanish fundamentals, such as their days of the week, the children also learned a St. Patrick's Day song and made cards - which they hopefully sang and presented to you! We also played a fun game of Spanish Hide and Seek, utilizing opposites!  

They are also hopefully listening to their new spring CDs!!!! Please consider copying them as I consistently hear that they get "lost" and they're expected to listen to them at least weekly. I'm excited to hear that a number of children are listening to them regularly in their cars! They have also received a music/coloring book which is in their binders! Some children are well on their way to memorizing songs!

Hola Familias!
We said goodbye to our winter 'friends and hello to our spring friends!  They were introduced to some spring friends via a beautiful golden Easter basket - a bunny(conejo), a chick (pollito) and a duck(patito) hatched from a lovely Easter egg! They also were excited to receive their spring music books and did a fabulous job of beginning to learn, sing and memorize the first set of songs!  

*The Spring CD is coming next week!!!!! Please continue speaking Spanish for a class star!

El Quetzal

Hola Familias!
Well, the children began class with a review of Spanish  fundamental vocabulary -  including numbers, days of the week, colors and seasons. Incorporating an authentic rainstick and beautiful pictures, the children then learned and sang about the lovely quetzal - found in southern Mexico and Central America. They illustrated the song by drawing a jungle and creating a gorgeous quetzal of their own!

La tarea:  Learn and practice singing song #9 Que Llueva, which tells about a quetzal in a tropical rainstorm! Listen to your CD and practice speaking and singing in Spanish!

This afternoon, someone important was missing: la Señora Tinetti; however, Fabricio had a little project planned for our little ones. They made their own little "Farm Book", drawing their own animals and writing what they were. You can have your child read those words to you to help her assimilate them. Then it was time for a little "telephone game" before leaving the classroom. It was a great afternoon for everybody!

Celebrating Valentines Day!

 

Hola Amigos - the children happily sang Valentine songs presented by their puppet friends Juan Pablo and Senor Loro, learned how to say, " I love you!" in Spanish AND American Sign Language, enthusiastically reviewed the vocabulary for their candy heart Spanish messages (which they thoroughlly enjoyed  and Valentine cards were made! ¡Feliz Día de San Valentín!

LA TAREA/Homework: LISTEN TO THE WINTER CD!!!!! They'll receive a spring CD in March. Por favor: please speak and sing in Spanish!!!!!

Feb. 6

Hola Familias - the children enjoyed learning Spanish Valentine songs, Spanish Valentine sweetheart messages and creating a "family" of valentine hearts for which they gave mini-presentations. Their presentations included the size of each valentine and their title in the family! So, they're currently learning how to use pequeno,mediano y grande and el papa, la mama y el bebe in sentences!


Please have the children learn their Valentine songs and learn the handout regarding valentine candy messages - so they can understand the candy messages that they'll receive next week!
