Hola amigos - today we focused on counting, colors and puppies! The children learned two counting songs with puppies. They also learned how to say their age and enjoyed drawing puppies and what they like - thus expanding their vocabulary!
You can help your child with the practice of colors, just by pointing at a colorful object and asking "Qué color es?"
Listen and sing-along with your Spanish winter CD - the children will receive a new one in the spring!
REMINDERS: Could the children please eat, drink and go to the bathroom before class?

Hola familias - what fun the children had with a winter wonderland theme! The children began the day with a review of basic Spanish and went on to create a snowman "puppet" with a winter scene to inhabit! This activity illustrates the snowman song found in their winter CD!

Reminder: The child who found the baby Jesus during the Three Kings Celebration is invited to bring a small healthy treat - such as tropical fruit for the class on Feb. 9!

La tarea/Homework: Please have the children continue to listen to their winter CD - they'll get a spring one in March! Also, please have them practice speaking and or singing in Spanish! They earn stars for accomplishing both of these tasks! They can practice greetings. the seasons, colors. body parts, animals, clothing, winter vocab. and count everything they see!

Epiphany Celebration!

Felíz Año Nuevo! Happy New Year to our students!
Back to Spanish after three weeks of break! We reviewed Christmas vocabulary as well as vocabulary learned so far through games of bingo and telefono. Then it was time for a celebration! Indeed Epiphany is on January 6th and the class celebrated with a little party with Mexican chocolate, Mexcian Three Kings bread and a baby Jesus hidden inside to find. The kids were thrilled as a queen (who found baby Jesus) was crowned for the pleasure of everybody!

Tarea: Please number and color-code everything you see in Spanish! Listen and sing-along with  your Spanish winter CD - the children will receive a new one in the spring!

One week before Christmas, it was the perfect time to practice some Christmas vocabulary with a Mexican Chrstmas bingo game, we all had a little celebration outside, the sun being generous with us. Then it was time to enjoy Christmas Break.

Please be sure to listen and sing-along with the winter CD!

We'll come back  to Spanish class and celebrate Three Kings Day with a special Mexican sweet bread!!!

See you next year! Hasta el año que viene.
