"En mi casa, yo veo una calabaza anaranjada" is the sentence your child could create today. We worked on making such short sentences, related to coming Halloween, and each student read them to the others who were delighted to understand. This basic sentence is one of the pillars of mastering Spanish as it stresses on the masculine/feminine concept of the language.
It also was very motivating to see that all the kids knew their sight words, so we added six more:
"hay", "qué tal?", "qué es?", "hoy", "ayer", "manana" (with a tilde on the 1st N that my keyboard doesn't have). Step by step, they are walking deeper into the Spanish world, help them practice with their new knowledge so that they keep on asking for more.
"Hasta luego!"
